Chris Canyon is a Southern California based recording Artist / Songwriter / and Multi-Instrumentalist. Having been inspired by his grandfather’s love of music, he began writing songs to express the experiences and emotions he encountered in his life. Chris developed a hard earned “DIY” work ethic that has no doubt helped him achieve admirable independent success. He has had placements on terrestrial radio, internet radio, opened for major country acts, and is a former contestant on The Voice and American’s Got Talent. From the Dolby theatre to a small-town dive bar, Chris shares his love for music through the stories in his songs. Having had continued success in his career, Chris would say he’s both inspired and encouraged to continue pursuing his songwriting and artist career while also serving full time as a Registered Nurse in a Southern California Emergency Department.
Blending his multi-genre musical tastes, that’s a little bit rock and a little bit country, Chris' songs have evolved into what some have described as a unique “California Country” sound. Having grown up surfing and skating, this “California kid” element shines through the strong lyrics and unique vocal prowess. His music comes from a truly experiential and humble point of view and represents his deep love of lyric and music.
Recently signed to Native South Records, Chris is set to release his debut single “Forget Me” featuring friend and fellow artist Christie Huff (Guest vocals).
